Access Data

The Office of Institutional Research supports UAA's mission through effective development, efficient delivery, and appropriate education in the use of information for decision making. Please see the below data options.

  1. Public Dashboards: Contains information on select , , as well as other related data.

  2. Internal Institutional Dashboards (SECURE LOGIN REQUIRED): IR hosts a series of , organized by topical area. The landing page includes a "find your data" interactive tool. This data is accessible to individuals with approved BANNER access.

  3. Ad-Hoc Requests: While the primary function of IR is to provide data for ongoing evaluation and decision-making processes, the office can at times complete ad-hoc requests, as per the below requirements. Please review these prior to submitting a request. Requests are made using the form below.
    • Requesters are responsible for protecting the resulting information from misuse or unauthorized release and for conforming to existing federal, state, and institutional policies relating to the data.
    • Data requests may only be submitted by UAA Faculty or Staff. External agency requests are not supported through this form.
    • Requests for individual student information or system access are typically not supported. Instructors and major professors are encouraged to contact UAA IR directly with specific requests.
    • The information provided will be drawn from official university sources. UAA IR is typically unable to access data not integrated into the UAA or UA data system, with exceptions addressed on a case-by-case basis.
    • Requests in support of research activities (as defined by statute and determined by the UA Institutional Review Board) must include IRB approval or documentation of non-research determination prior to release.
    • UAA IR does not handle corrections or updates to official university data directly. Efforts will be made to guide users to the appropriate office for corrections.
    • Protected, classified, or restricted data (e.g., individual student, sensitive, personal, or health data) are not available.
    • Data must be used solely for the intended purpose of the request and may not be reused or disclosed for undocumented purposes.
    • Follow-up requests for additional data under a particular request will be limited at the discretion of UAA IR. Requesters may be asked to submit an additional request for tracking and maintaining records of ad-hoc requests. UAA IR staff will make every effort to understand the request to best serve UAA.
    • Data requests are addressed and returned promptly, but UAA IR reporting volumes fluctuate; therefore, users are advised to plan ahead and request data at least 14 business days before the requested due date.
    • Accreditation-related data requires submission at least one month before the requested due date.

Data request prioritization is as follows:

      1. Federal, State, UAA Executive Leadership, legally and contractually required external/internal reporting functions.
      2. MAU and System operational data and data with financial, safety, or operational implications.
      3. External reporting requests, research, and operational support inquiries.

This is not an exhaustive list, and UAA IR appreciates your consideration and understanding in the delivery of ad-hoc requests. For questions, please contact the UAA IR Director, Dr. Daniel Campbell, at drcampbell4@alaska.edu.
