UAA's ANSEP Building one of 66 out of 1,000 to receive prestigious American Architecture Award

The building that houses UAA's was one of 66 distinguished structures selected to receive a . The award program, sponsored by together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd., received 1,000 submittals for the 2008 awards. The jury for this year's awards is from Athens, Greece.

The ANSEP Building opened on Oct. 24, 2006. The two-story building inspired by an Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Native Southeast dugout canoe, features a large computer lab, a collaborative learning lab, recitation rooms, a small kitchen and staff/faculty offices. The 12,000-square-foot building increases the capacity for engineering instruction at UAA by providing engineering laboratory instructional equipment, furnishings, computers/servers and distance education equipment. The building was designed by RIM First People, developed by JL Properties, Inc. and constructed by Davis Constructors.
