New 'Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Energy Statistics' report available

A preliminary report, "Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Energy Statistics 1960-2011," by Ginny Fay and Alejandra Villalobos Melendez of ISER and Corinna West of the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Energy Authority, is now available, together with workbook tables. Final figures will be available in spring 2013.
This is the most recent annual update of energy statistics in Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ, done for the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Energy Authority. Of the 6.5 million megawatt-hours of electricity generated statewide in 2011, natural gas generated 58 percent, hydroelectric power 20 percent, diesel and other oil products 16 percent, coal 6 percent and wind less than 1 percent. That was a slight increase in shares generated by natural gas and oil products and a slight drop in the share from hydroelectric power.
