Oct. 3, 2015: Swedish diplomat and Norwegian professor discuss Scandinavia and Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ

Christer Persson, a retired Swedish diplomat, and Bertelsen Rasmus Gjedssø, professor of northern studies at the University of Tromsø (Anchorage's sister city in Norway), will speak on "Scandinavia and Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ: Sweden in and Norway out of the European Union."
The Scandinavian countries have long had a special relationship with the United States and Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ. Emigrants from Scandinavia have enriched our culture here. We share a common heritage of democracy, human rights and respect for the rule of law, as well as a special role in the Arctic. In this evening conversation on Scandinavia and Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ, our distinguished visitors Christer Persson and Bertelson Rasmus Gjedssø will explore their countries' ties with our state and examine the current political situation of Sweden and Norway with respect to the European Union, the United States and Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ.
