WWAMI director named Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Family Physician of the Year

Kathy Young, interim director of the WWAMI medical education program, has received the Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Family Physician of the Year Award from the Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Academy
of Family Physicians. The award recognizes Young's dedication to family medicine and
to underserved communities in Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ. Young has a reputation at UAA for her commitment
both for clinical practice and education. Fellow WWAMI faculty member Sarah Murphy
shared this about her: “I cannot say enough positive things about the professional
learning environment Dr. Young creates for the future physicians of Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ. She inspires
future family physicians and those opting for other specialties to embrace the both
the academic and humanistic sides of medicine."
