ENGAGE: Health Careers
The Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW) provides hands-on training and career exploration opportunities designed to help Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æns begin their healthcare career journey. These programs offer participants the chance to earn industry-recognized credentials like Basic Life Support (BLS), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and Mandt De-escalation Training, equipping them with essential skills and giving them a competitive edge in the healthcare field.

Our Youth Exploration Camps are week-long, hands-on programs designed for young people to explore careers in allied health, public health, behavioral health, and medicine. These camps are interactive and include industry-recognized credentials, with some programs offering dual credit for high school students.

In response to the shortage of career and technical education instructors in rural Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ, Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ AHEC has partnered with the State of Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Department of Education and Early Development. Rural Health CTEPS (Career and Technical Education Pathways) offer qualified instructors to help school districts implement healthcare career pathways tailored to meet the needs of rural communities.

The Pre-Apprenticeship Training in Healthcare (PATH) Academy is designed for Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æns aged 16 and up who are interested in exploring healthcare career opportunities. Participants will receive hands-on training in CPR, Mental Health First Aid, job readiness skills, and learn about local healthcare employment opportunities.
