Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Center for Rural Health and Health Workforce
The Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW) is committed to strengthening
and diversifying Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ’s health workforce, especially in rural communities and underserved
populations. The Center is composed of a variety of programs, most notably the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ
Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) which is composed of six regional community based
centers throughout the state. As part of the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ's role
as the state's health campus, the Center supports health program planning, community partnership, diversity, inclusion and intercampus
collaboration. The Center provides the framework of statewide community partnerships
to support the full pipeline of health workforce development from career exploration
to health program training to continuing education.
The Della Keats program introduces students from all parts of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ to college courses, dorm life and big-city educational opportunities specific to health-science.
Healthcare providers from across the state of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ recently completed specialized training through the Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) program, thanks to the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Center for Rural Health and Health Workforce (ACRH-HW) at the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ.
Sand Point high school students participated in a variety of didactic and hands-on activities that introduced them to different types of careers in behavioral health, therapeutic modalities and self-care skills.
Students at the statewide HOSA - Future Health Professionals Leadership Conference participated in competitions showcasing their instructional knowledge in physical therapy, dental science, nurse assistant, sports medicine, forensics, vet science, and phlebotomy.
