Eduardo PiqueirasPh.D., M.Sc.
Biography
Dr. Piqueiras is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Population Health Sciences. His work and passion center around three complementary streams of research: (1) human-environmental interactions across the life course, particularly how they relate to emerging and reemerging infectious diseases; (2) cities and urbanizing centers and infrastructures and their impact on human health; and (3) the development and application of research methodologies in public health and clinical settings.
Before joining UAA, he was a research methodologist at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, focused on developing clinically integrated pathways for improved patient care with a focus on men's health. When not in the classroom, the lab, or conducting fieldwork, he can be found scuba diving the icy waters of the north, competitive fencing, or snowboarding on the nearest mountain.
