As part of UAA’s COVID-19 response, 72 nursing seniors in good academic standing will be given the option to finish their degree on an expedited timeline to join the health workforce sooner than they would otherwise be able to.
Proper evidence collection and documentation after domestic violence or sexual assault is an important step to help women who have been traumatized. A unique forensic training academy at UAA is teaching nurses how to conduct these exams and is helping grow the network of forensic nurses across the state.

Angelia Trujillo, associate professor in the School of Nursing, has been awarded the UAA Alumni Humanitarian Award for her outstanding contributions to the field of nursing and to Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ’s communities. Trujillo earned her M.S. in Nursing Science from UAA in 2004, and her B.S. in Nursing Science here in 1997.
UAA student-athlete Caroline Kurgat was honored last week with a legislative citation from the state of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ. The Thirty-First Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ State Legislature members congratulate Kurgat for her outstanding athletic ability and dedication to excellence.
